Boys : Std. I to V Grey shorts with side pockets and loops for belt and checked Shirt with half sleeves and one pocket. Std. VI to X Long Trousers and Check Shirts.

The uniform cloth should be of the prescribed shade and the uniform of the prescribed pattern only.
Girls with long hair should tie in two plaits with black hair band (white on Wednesday). Students can wear simple and modest coloured dress on the following occasions -

No fancy footwear will be permitted. Students who do not come in the prescribed school uniform shall not be allowed to board the school bus or enter the class.
Students are strictly forbidden to make any deviation from the prescribed school uniform. The management reserves for itself the right to take disciplinary action against the students who fail to follow the rules regarding school uniform or footwear.

School Fees
The tuition fees and conveyance fees will not be accepted at the school office. The payment may be made through the Federal Bank as per the following procedure.
1. Those who possess an account in any of the branches of the Federal Bank, may contact the concerned branch for remittance of school fees.
2. Those who do not have account in Federal Bank may remit the fees at any one of the following branches of the bank only in cash.
    i) The main branch of the bank at Bank Junction.
    ii) The Thottakkattukara branch
    iii) The Railway Station Square branch
    iv) Thaikkattukara Branch

Tuition Fees : Tuition fees for the year 2010 - 2011 are payable in 4 equal instalments as per the following schedule

An amount of Rs. 250/- is collected per student as annual miscellaneous charge. 

     I instalment on or before 5th May 2010
     II instalment on or before 10th August 2010
     III instalment on or before 10th November 2010
     IV instalment on or before 10th January 2011
Those who do not remit the ist instalment of tuition fee on or before 29th May 2010 will find their names removed from the school register.

A late fee of Rs. 10/- will be charged on School fees and Van fees after the due date till the end of the month. If the fees are not paid even then, a fine of Rs. 5/- will be charged per day.

If fees fall in arrears for more than 2 months, the students’ name will be removed from the school rolls and no readmission may be granted. In case of readmission, granted entirely at the discretion of the Management, readmission fee shall be payable along with the arrears of fees including the fine.

Parents who wish to send their children by private vehicles, should ensure that the vehicle owners possess the following documents.
     1. Clearance Certificate from the Police Station.
     2. Letter of approval from the school authorities.

School Conveyance
School will arrange conveyance for the students to and from various important points within Aluva. There will be two slabs of Rs. 840/- and Rs. 1260/-, each according to the distance. Those who wish to avail transport facility should pay the fees for 10 months in four instalments as given in the diary. Request for the change of School van will not be entertained through the telephone.
A caution deposit of Rs. 1000, has to be remitted by each student who uses the school bus which will be refunded when the student leaves the school.

     IVth instalment on or before 10th February 2011

Admission and Withdrawal
Admission to all classes is based on the performance of the candidate in tests and interviews conducted. A child must have completed 5˝ years for admission to Std. I. After UKG seats to Std. I will be confirmed only after re-registration on or before 31 st March. For admission the candidate must produce birth certificate, transfer certificate and report card from the previous school.

In case of withdrawals the application for T. C. must reach the school office on or before 16th April. The Ist Term fee will be collected from those who give in a late application. If a student does not confine to the rules and regulations of the school or is incapable of improvement the principal may require the parent to withdraw their child.

Attendance
Students are expected to put in an attendance of 85% of the total number of working days in the academic year. Long absence may be condoned at the discretion of the school committee.
Attendance on the opening day and closing day of every term is compulsory. No student will be sent home during the school working hours without prior notification or accompanied by a duly authorised person.

The school Assembly
The morning session for standards IV to XI begins at 8.30 a.m. with the assembly which all students and staff members are expected to join. During the assembly the students have to observe proper decorum and solemnity befitting the occasion.

Scheme of Studies
The School follows the CBSE Scheme. The medium of instruction is English. Malayalam / Sanskrit is introduced as the second language from Std. V. Hindi is offered as third language and is compulsory up to Std. VIII. At Senior Secondary stage, there are two groups Science and Commerce.

Tests, examinations and promotion
STD : 1 - V
1. No formal examinations are conducted from Std. I to V. The intellectual development of the child shall be monitored throughout the year. The result of this continuous evaluation shall constitute the criterion for promotion. The grades will stand for the following distribution of marks.

A+ Outstanding 90%    -    100%
A Excellant 75%    -    89%
B Very Good 56%    -    74%
C Good 35%    -    55%
D Scope for improvement - Below 35%
STD : VI - X
The scheme of continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation will be followed from class VI to X. An academic year has been divided into two terms. The first term will be from June to October and the second term from November - March.

The CCE provide a holistic profile of the learner through evaluation of both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas spread over two terms.
The evaluation of Scholastic area includes formative and summative Assessment.

40% weightage will be given to, formative assessments from classes VI to X. The grading system A1, A2, b1, B2, C1, C2, D, E1 & E2 will be followed.

Formative assessment is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor student progress in a non threatening supportive environment. It involves regular descriptive feedback - a chance for the student to reflect on the performance, take advice and improve upon it. It can improve the student performance tremendously, while raising the self esteem of the child.

2. Promotion of students is based on the all round performance of the child.
3. Students will not be given any supplementary test or examination due to absence for any reason.
4. Result declared at the end of the year is final in all cases and will not be reconsidered under any circumstance.
5. Students will not be permitted to appear for the exams unless all the fees are paid upto date.
6. Report cards will be issued only on the date mentioned in the diary.

Medical Check up
An annual medical check up of all students by the school doctor will be conducted and reports of the same will be sent to the parents.

News Letter
Students and staff have an opportunity to express their creativity through our school News letter “Darshan” which will be published twice a year.

Tours and Picnics
Students are taken for study tours and picnics with prior consent of parents to various places of historical, geographical and cultural interests and as part of social service activities.

School Discipline
1. Punctuality and regularity in attendance, proper dress, submission of assignments and gentlemanly / lady-like behaviour are always insisted on. Good order      should be maintained when heading for special subject rooms.
2. Leave application should be entered in the pages provided in the diary and as far as possible in advance. In case of long absence, a medical certificate will      have to be produced. No student is allowed to leave the school early without proper reasons and permission from the Principal.
3. Students are forbidden from writing or scribbling on the wall or damaging school property. The parents will have to bear the expense of repairing the school      property.
4. Jewellery must not be worn in school. The school is not responsible for goods lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable articles like expensive watches, fountain      pens and gold ornaments to school. No magazines, toys or other articles must be brought to school without prior permission. It is desirable to label all      belongings.
5. Cleanliness in person and clothes is expected of every student.
     The School premises should be kept neat and tidy.
6. Return of report cards, remittance of fees, bus fare etc. should be done on the dates specified.
7. Any change in the address, telephone No. etc., should be promptly intimated.
8. Every student is urged to maintain the high moral and spiritual standards set for the school by his / her manner and conduct. He / she is not supposed to use      vulgar language.
9. Children should be encouraged to be polite and respect their elders.
10. Students will not be given any supplementary test or examination due to absence for any reason.
11. Students must spend their free periods reading or revising in the library.
12. Parents are requested to co-operate in the school work by taking an interest in the progress of their children and enforcing regularity, punctuality and       discipline.
13. Parents and guardians are not allowed to visit students during class hours or to take their wards from school before 12.30 p.m.
14. No student will be allowed to make phone calls without prior permission from the principal.
15. The school authority reserves the rights to refuse admission to a pupil or to dismiss a student whose conduct is harmful to others. This rule, is also        applicable to all those whose progress is unsatisfactory.
16. Students are expected to speak in English in the school campus as well as in the school bus.
17. Students suffering from contagious diseases will not be allowed to attend classes or appear for tests.
18. Students are not allowed to borrow or lend money or exchange articles.
19. Boys are expected to have regular hair cuts and girls with long hair must make two plaits. Colouring of hair is not allowed.
20. Articles like mobile phones, music players, cameras, playing cards, undesirable magazines and books etc should not be
      brought to school. If found in posession these will be confiscated.
21. Students should not enter the computer room, laboratories, library and staff rooms unless teachers / instructors are present.
22. Distribution of sweets on birth days or any other occasion will not be permitted. Instead, students may donate books to the school library.

Library Rules
1. Library books will be issued from Std. V onwards.
2. Books are issued for a period of two weeks only.
3. Only one book will be issued at a time and on the appointed day for each class.
4. Books are to be returned before each examination. Students who fail to do so will have to pay a fine.
5. Fine will be levied if a book is damaged.
6. In case a book is lost, it will have to be replaced by the concerned student.
7. Students are to enter the titles of books they have read in the school diary on the pages provided for the purpose.

Laboratory Rules
1. No apparatus or materials may be used without prior sanction from the concerned teachers.
2. Any accidents or breakage in the laboratory must be reported to the teacher in charge immediately. 3. All apparatus must be cleaned and kept in their proper      places after use. 4. All materials in the laboratory must be used economically. All waste materials must be put in the waste basket.
