SMS MATE
This year the school introduced the concept of SMS Mate to facilitate quicker and more convenient communication tool between the teachers and the parents. In essence, the mobile numbers of all parents whose children are enrolled at Rajashree S.M Memorial will be fed into a central server from where messages can be sent instantaneously to mobile numbers. Messages can be sent to every parent either from a particular class or all classes from standard 1 onwards, a division, or an individual parent with the press of a button.

Urgent or general information can be communicated without the trouble of phone calls or messages in the student’s diary.

NEW STAGE
It was felt that the time had come for the construction of a modern stage for school functions and special occasions and to this extent, construction commenced during the summer vacation.

The final blueprint was selected from various designs and is proposed that the stage will be ready by the end of July 2010, depending on the monsoon. This construction will avoid the unnecessary trouble of conducting programs at venues outside the school campus.

INTRODUCTION OF SMARTCLASS FACILITY
Of particular interest to both the students and teachers was the introduction of a novel concept known as the “Smartclass” with interactive boards. The teachers were given an intensive training session prior to re-opening of the school.

The “Smartclass” will provide teachers with pre-prepared classes or sessions based on the CBSE syllabus right from classes 1 – 12. Not only this, provision for LKG and UKG students from the kindergarten is also available.

In addition to a pre-prepared CBSE syllabus, teachers can create their own specific presentations or conduct research from the Smartclass database containing over 3000 different topics and use these in the classrooms. The students will be exposed to a novel method of learning and insightful audio / video presentations.

DROP BOX
To assist the parents in payment of fees, a drop box facility from Federal Bank has been introduced at the school office which parents may utilize. Cheques will be collected by the bank staff at regular intervals.
