Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan
Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan is our Administer. She is a member of the Founding Team and a Trustee. She has been with us from our very inception. A life dedicated to value-based education, she is a Graduate in Physics, B.Ed in English and Mathematics, and is Montessory-qualified. When she formally joined Rajashree in 1995 as Assistant Principal, she brought with her the luminous treasure of experience in education that had earlier seen her as Teacher-in-Charge at Bhavan's Bala Mandir for 12 years, Teacher-in-Charge of Vidyodaya Kindergarten, Thevakkal for 5 years, Principal of Bhavan's Nursery Teachers' Training College for 3 years and Trustee of Vidyodaya, Thevakkal from 1990 to 2007. She had also been Academic Co-ordinator of classes LKG to X at Chennai DAV Public School for 2 years.
Drawing from a generation-long knowledge of teaching, she is a pro-active pioneer motivated by her belief that any satisfactory system of education should aim at a balanced growth of the individual and insist on both knowledge and wisdom; jnaanam vijnaana-sahitham. It should not only train the intellect, but also bring grace into the heart of man.
Holding the demanding office of Administrator, Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan has been and is a tower of strength to the management of which she herself is a member.

Shailaja Nair is the Vice Principal of Rajashree School. She obtained her B.A Degree from Calcutta University selecting Education and Elective English as her optional subjects. Subsequently, she went on to complete her B.Ed at Annamalai University, Chennai., with her specialization being English and Special English.
She is also equally qualified to teach at the Nursery level as well, having completed a Certificate Course in N.T.T.C. (Nursery Teachers Training Course), from the Academy of Career Guidance, New Delhi.
Not content with these feathers on her cap, she continued on her educational path by enrolling for yet another Certificate Course in English Teaching at I.G.N.O.U, (India Gandhi National Open University). She has also been the proud recipient of a Certificate for Proficiency in English, which is conducted by the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, at Hyderabad.
Shailaja has also completed a course for proficiency in the English language conducted by the C.I.E.F.L., (Central Institute of English and Foreign Language,) at Hyderabad and additionally, her C.T.E., (Certificate in Teaching of English).
Not being content with such an armory of degrees and qualifications, Shailaja is presently pursuing her M.A. in English from I.G.N.O.U.
Shailaja began her teaching career at Bhavans Bala Mandir, where she taught in the K.G. Section for 7 years, before moving on to Vidyodaya, where she taught in the K.G. Section for 5 years.
Shailaja joined Rajashree in 1995 and teaches English Language to different levels. It may be pertinent to mention here that Shailaja has been associated with Rajashree right from its very inception more than a decade back, nevertheless, her enthusiasm and jovial attitude in teaching the nuances of the English language continue with the same dedication and sincerity as is was then, and certainly, as it always will be.

Mrs. Padmaja Gopa Kumar
Principal Coordinator & Librarian
Padmaja Gopa Kumar is the Principal Coordinator and Librarian at Rajashree S.M.M School, and is one of the members of the diverse faculty who has been an integral part of the Rajashree family right from its very inception, as early back as 1995.
Padmaja completed her schooling at Government High School at Irinjalakuda after which she went on to complete her B.A., where she specialized in English, both in the language and literature disciplines which she obtained after graduating from Vimala College, in Trichur, Kerala. On completion of her B.A., she enrolled and subsequently obtained a degree in B.L.I.S., (Bachelor of Library and Information Science). Her decision to continue her education in this specialized area of knowledge was but obvious, considering her keen interest in the literary field and the opportunity to expose herself to the intricate discipline connected with library management skills.
Over and above her interest in the field of literature, she is also a renowned exponent in classical dance, her specialization being in the Kathakali art form of dance, as a result of the performances she has delivered, she has won laurels at the State level.
In the midst of all these activities and achievements, she also managed to squeeze in 5 years of teaching at Vidyodaya, where she was in charge of the library. Additionally, she also assisted in presenting dance and dramatic numbers on the occasion of the Annual Day.
As is evident, her role as Librarian at Rajashree is of vital importance and critical to instilling the valuable discipline of the reading habit, as opposed to the distraction of the T.V, computer games, etc. She is responsible for not only recommending reading material that would be beneficial for the students and the institution as a whole, but also for evaluating and assessing the nature level of the reading material to be prescribed, bearing in mind the capabilities and reading level of the particular student, including teaching correct diction and vocabulary.
Her knowledge is not only restricted to fiction and non-fiction, but extends itself to academic subjects, where a student, expressing difficulty in a certain subject would be recommended to take recourse to a particular book
